Elephantine
In an uncouth world that is a lacklustre gray
I ask that you listen, I have something to say
I could tell you its maniacal, where I have been
Or I could just say, it’s elephantine
I have changed, no doubt, with what I’ve endured
My body’s still broken but my Soul has been cured
It’s like I hold a secret that is beyond all thought
That can never be taken and it can never be bought
I could tell you it’s stupendous, what I have seen
Or I could just say, it’s elephantine
We live in a time that is fast and unkind
Surging ahead with no hope of rewind
We need to slow down. We need to be still
Take time to reflect and spread some good will
I could tell you that’s expected, where Souls will gleen
Or I could just say, it’s elephantine
I can’t hold my tongue, I must confess
Not all will survive, past this first dress
Some have wrongdoings that are beyond repair
And will disappear into nothingness... the unaware
I could tell you it’s ghastly... it’s beyond demean
Or I could just say, it’s elephantine
However, with all that said (and believe me there’s more)
Just sort yourself out and settle your score
My advice to you is to Do Good, Love Well and Live
And always, always, always forgive.
Then you might earn a ticket to this place unseen
And I’ll guarantee this...
It’s elephantine
